Left Behind

I worked with Anna Toomey for graphic design of a pitch deck for her feature documentary, Left Behind, the story of brilliant minds overlooked, devalued, and essentially tossed aside because they lack a fundamental skill, the ability to read and the unwavering conviction of a group of mothers to fight for them.

The issue: 1 in 5 Americans are dyslexic. We have all heard the term, but what exactly does it mean to be dyslexic? Simply put, it’s having trouble connecting letters on a page with their sounds. But the disorder has no effect on IQ. In fact experts believe that that inability can actually lead to new brain pathways like creativity, resilience, and out-of-the-box thinking because the brain is forced to create new novel connections.
