Maya Rose
Hi, Hola, Bonjour, Ciao, Jambo, Aloha! I’m a creative entrepreneur with a dynamic path across design, photography, film, performing arts, marketing, and business operations. As an avid traveler, I collaborate with clients worldwide—spanning continents, time zones, and cultures—fueling my curiosity and allowing me to craft design solutions that are culturally attuned and creatively bold.
I founded MayaRose Creative LLC, a digital and print studio, in 2014 to bring ideas to life through strategic design, photography, and marketing. My clients include brands, businesses, non-profit organizations, and creatives such as SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, United Nations, Atelier Paula Crown, A Dream Wedding Maui, KWI, Farmland LP, Mochidream, and more. It is a joy to collaborate with my clients to tell their unique stories, and I can honestly say I look forward to my work more than I ever thought possible.
I have taken on projects such as web development and design for The Metropolitan Opera and The Santa Fe Opera; international marketing forThe Met: Live in HD, reaching over 1,700 venues in 54 countries; interactive map and magazine design for Sheldrick Wildlife Trust; social media direction for The Santa Fe Film Festival; photography for the International Folk Art Market; film production for Santa Fe Studios; quarterly magazine layout for Pathways Productions; technical direction for Anthony Roth Costanzo’s Akhnaten at The Brooklyn Museum; forum programming for OPERA America; the pivot of a global world-record climate crisis hackathon and conference into an entirely virtual experience for Experimental Civics; and founding The Freelancing Creative—a digital hub with over 5,000 members—for networking, collaboration, job sharing, mentorship, and career development during the onset of COVID-19.
With over 20 years of experience in music, theater and dance, I specialize in working with performing artists to grow their brands, including Rod Gilfry, Patricia Racette, Michael Fabiano, Robert Tweten, Grace Browning, and Amanda Echalaz. As mentioned in my May 2024 interview with Classical Singer Magazine it is imperative to “be a key player in your marketing by surrounding yourself with a team that best reflects your values.” I’ve been entrusted to provide creative consulting for National Sawdust, Sag Harbor Song Festival, Stratagem Artists, Gallo Center for the Arts, and The Dallas Opera.
Visual storytelling has been my greatest passion since childhood, when I first picked up a camera. I fell in love with life behind the lens and strengthened my skills by building my own pinhole camera, practicing the art of composition with 35mm film, and developing prints in the darkroom. Through photojournalism, I love uncovering what makes a travel destination tick—whether it’s exploring natural and man-made wonders, tasting new cuisines, learning from different cultures, or observing spectacular wildlife. These moments continue to deepen my compassion and fuel my thirst for adventure. It’s why I take photographs—and why I share them. View my travel writings in The Wandering Lens: Maya’s Mindful Adventures for the Creative Traveler.
Believing in the importance of giving back, I devote time to pro bono work for brands and organizations that raise awareness and support environmental and humanitarian causes around the world. I serve as an ambassador by volunteering my skills in photography, graphic design, marketing, and event planning for organizations such as Rainforest Alliance, Loggerhead Marine Life Center, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Claim Our Space Now, and Muddy Paws Rescue.
