Maya Rose
As a creative entrepreneur and media maven, my career path has been anything but traditional. I have a wide range of experience across diverse creative fields, including design, photography, film, performing arts, marketing, public relations, and business operations.
I founded MayaRose Creative LLC, a digital and print studio, in 2014 to bring ideas to life through strategic design, photography, and marketing. My clients include brands, businesses, non-profit organizations, and creatives such as SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, United Nations, Atelier Paula Crown, Rainforest Alliance, National Sawdust, Finn & Co., Stratagem Artists, Farmland LP, Sag Harbor Song Festival, and more. It is a joy to collaborate with my clients to tell their unique stories, and I can honestly say I look forward to my work more than I ever thought possible.
I have taken on projects such as web development and design for The Metropolitan Opera and The Santa Fe Opera; international marketing for The Met: Live in HD for over 1,700 venues in 54 countries; interactive map and magazine design for Sheldrick Wildlife Trust; social media direction for The Santa Fe Film Festival; photography for the International Folk Art Market; film production for Santa Fe Studios; quarterly magazine layout for Pathways Productions; technical direction for Anthony Roth Costanzo’s Akhnaten at The Brooklyn Museum; forum programming for OPERA America; and the pivot of a global world-record climate crisis hackathon and conference into an entirely virtual experience for Experimental Civics during the onset of COVID-19.
With over 20 years of experience in music, theater and dance, I specialize in working with performing artists to grow their brands, including Rod Gilfry, Patricia Racette, Michael Fabiano, Robert Tweten, Grace Browning, and Amanda Echalaz. As I mentioned in my May 2024 interview with Classical Singer Magazine, it is imperative to “be a key player in your marketing by surrounding yourself with a team that best reflects your values.”
Visual storytelling has been my greatest passion since childhood when I first picked up a camera. I fell in love with life behind the lens and strengthened my skills by building my own pinhole camera, practicing the art of composition with 35mm film, and developing prints in the darkroom. Having photographed throughout North and Central America, Europe, and East Africa, I’ve seen natural and man-made wonders, tried new foods, learned from other cultures, and observed spectacular wildlife. This thirst for adventure, knowledge, and understanding is why I take photographs. It’s also why I share them. View my photography blog.
Since I believe being philanthropic with one’s time is important, I devote hours to pro bono work for brands and organizations that raise awareness and give back to environmental and humanitarian causes worldwide. I act as an ambassador, volunteering my photography, graphic design, marketing, and event planning skillsets for organizations such as the Rainforest Alliance, Loggerhead Marine Life Center, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Claim Our Space Now, and Muddy Paws Rescue.
